Christina Coleman Mullen is an editor and communications/narrative strategist with a focus on social justice and politics.

She’s currently overseeing communications for Care in Action, a non-profit building political power for the 2.5 million domestic workers in the U.S. Coleman joined Care in Action at the height of the 2020 Election Season, after a run on U.S. Senator Cory Booker’s presidential campaign, where she began as the Content Director before joining the political shop as the Millennial and Influencer Engagement Director.

Before joining the political world, Coleman was the News and Culture Director for Glamour Magazine, where she built out content strategy for the 2018 Midterm Elections. Prior to joining one of Conde Nast’s storied women’s titles, Coleman spearheaded the creation and growth of ESSENCE.com’s news vertical as the Sr. News and Culture editor, where she conceived and scripted the award-winning web series, The OverExplainer. She’s made stops at NewsOne (Managing Editor), GlobalGrind (News and Politics Editor), and Saint Heron (Founding News Editor). Before moving to New York City to pursue a career in news journalism, she was an Earth Science writer at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. 

Coleman has written for a variety of publications addressing topics such as police brutality, gun reform, politics and women's rights. She is a sought-after media commentator, and has made appearances on CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin, HLN’s Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell, BRIC TV’s Straight Up, NewsOne Now, The Chew and many radio programs and podcasts. In addition to commentary, Coleman has also lent her communications talents to multiple projects, most notably for Vote for Justice, An Evening Of Empowerment With Artists & Activists, a criminal justice reform event, and The Black National Convention 2020.

Coleman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Print/Online Journalism and African Studies from Howard University. In January 2018, Coleman was among the news team at ESSENCE to be recognized by the PPFA Media Excellence Awards for her coverage of reproductive rights and sexual health.
